All of the restaurants have raised prices by 20% over the last 3 years. Buffet discounts have gone away - even the 5-cent chocolates on the hotel bed pillows are gone. We noticed a sharp decline in the staff as they have become less interested in customers.
We have chosen to go to closer Illinois and Iowa casinos as all of those items quickly declined once Penn National took over. We live in Milwaukee and used to travel 200 miles to Jumers 1 a month when the offered us a free room (even on Friday and Saturday nights), free buffet, $15-$25 in free play and would comp us breakfast Sunday morning ($20) after playing $200 over Friday night and Saturday. Once Penn National bought out the owners, the casino and hotel has become concerned with 1 thing - cutting corners, raising prices and reducing comps.
About 15 months ago, my ratings would have been 5 across the board.
